The Automotive Service Dispatcher plans, coordinates and manages the flow of service work through the service department in a professional and timely manner while ensuring quality repairs to the customer and fair allocation to the technicians based upon skill level and workflow.

Essential Duties

• Implements and maintains an effective dispatch system.
• Schedules shop work to facilitate maximum productivity in accordance with dealership policy and the technician skill level required.
• Ensures proper repair order documentation, i.e., concern, cause and correction noted on every repair order with punch time for each operation.
• Reviews job status frequently, logging status and reporting any change in time or cost estimates to the appropriate service advisor.
• Communicates job status with the advisors, shop foreman and service manager in a timely manner.
• Maintains an organized and up-to-date schedule.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a dispatch role is required with experience in an automotive dispatch position being preferred.
• Excellent communication, organization, and multi-tasking skills are required.
• Saturday availability is expected.
